Updated: Apr 1, 2019

On his recent trip to Paris, Ray Foulk attempted to view Bahut dit Meuble Elysée - 1920 by Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann (1879-1933) (shown above). [The piece Jacques Doucet recommended to the President]. This tremendous item can be visited in real life. The oak and tulip sideboard with marquetery of varnished amboyna wood inlaid with 2000 ivory soap bubbles , has silvered bronze finishings/ 1,85 é x2,45

Sadly it was in storage and not possible for Ray to see on this occasion. However he had more success with Doucet's precious Shakyamuni Bhudda which can be visited at Musée Cernuschi, Musée des Arts de L'Asie de la Ville de Paris.
